Fuzzy set theory driven maintenance sustainability performance assessment model: a multiple criteria approach

Abstract During the last five decades, manufacturing has radically changed not only due to technology development but also because of new market and environmental requirements. Nowadays, companies are focused on cost-reduction effectiveness or realized processes reducing negative impact natural social environment. Therefore, maintenance is transforming its role in order better support value creation, both contributing economic dimension as well extending care for aspects. The paper presents a method solve problem initial indicator merge into synthetic index that allows measuring level sustainability. proposed approach look at process combining indicators from different perspective (i.e. through interactions between criteria) help decision-makers improving economic, results system. To justify approach, it was applied Composite Maintenance Sustainability Indicator, which therefore generalized expanded, so could be used decision included case study shows real benefit using analyse actual system sustainability point view forecasting future actions.
